Abstract:
Access to healthcare is important for everyone, and the existing economic status at the national level influences this aspect. A high standard in this area is essential, and large variations in the quality of the sector are increasingly visible both within and within many countries. As medical care becomes more complex, expenditures continue to grow in this context, it is necessary to know the impact and importance of the health sector on the economy of a state. One of the main ways of analyzing the efficiency of financing the public health system is to evaluate the different aspects of population health and the degree of financing of this sector, over different periods. The efficiency of financing the health sector is reflected in various aspects of the health status of the population, aspects that are influenced by the degree of performance of the hospital units, which depends on the technology used, human resources available, etc. The financing of the health sector influences the health status of the population, which is why we will analyze the degree of efficiency of the financing of health services in Romania, in the context of the EU member states. Romania is analyzed in the context of the EU, because a comparison criterion is necessary, to form an overall picture regarding the degree of efficiency of the financing of health services in our country. The topic of actuality and global interest, regarding the financial support of the health sector, constitutes the premises of a complex analysis, and the main objective of the present paper is to measure the degree of efficiency of the financing of the health sector in Romania, in the context of the member states of the U.E.
