Abstract:

Reduced costs and financial improvement is what managers strive for from the adoption of ERP. Nevertheless, organizations experience during implementation is something quite different. Replacing systems environment and changing the business processes is a complex procedure. This paper describes different issues related to ERP software implementation and selection. The paper also discusses why ERP systems fail and how they can be made successful. I have also highlighted the points to be considered when selecting a software vendor. The paper briefly describes all the steps involved in ERP implementation. It proposes an ERP implementation methodology that is more risk free and efficient.
