The European Submodels’ Performances related to the Europe 2020 Strategy

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to identify the European social models’ performances related to the Europe 2020 Strategy, focusing on the labour market, education and social exclusion objectives. The study highlights a comparative analysis among the five European Union’s submodels (Northern, Continental, Southern, Anglo-Saxon and the New Member States submodel) in terms of developments after the 2008 economic crisis. Our purpose is to observe each submodel performance and to identify the sources that conducted to the best or the worst results. Therefore, the conclusions of the paper will highlight the relevance of the Europe 2020 Strategy’s targets.
