Abstract:

Analyzing the renewable energy market, the authors seek to answer the question: Which are the economical, social and environmental benefits of investments in wind energy? The answer has as its starting point a comparative analysis of situations on the European market of energy and cost - benefit analysis for investment projects carried out in the Bacau county, Romania. The comparative analysis highlights the importance of relation technology - wind potential and the economic analysis demonstrates the profitability of invested capital. The results are new arguments underlying the policies supporting and subsidizing the renewable energy. The old arguments supporting the need for subsidies inthis domanin are based mainly on the depletion of non-renewable energy resources and on the environmental protection.
