The Impact of Coronavirus on Romanian Automotive Industry

Abstract:

Globalization has made the distribution chains cross borders, making the economies of the countries increasingly interconnected. The coronavirus situation is very serious and affects the entire economy. Globally, there are several economic sectors affected by the measures taken against the transmission of the coronavirus. China is considered the main raw material supplier for Romanian Automotive Industry. The interruptions of its deliveries to Europe generate shutdowns of the production lines. Starting with February the Automotive Industry starts to lose money. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the losses in the Automotive Industry in Romania following the crisis generated by the coronavirus and find solutions for decreasing losses.
