Abstract:
A revenue from activities in the hotel market significantly depends on a few external factors. One of the most important is the number of tourists arriving at the destination. The authorities make effort to prevent coronavirus spreading in Russia that led to the closure of the country's borders and the cessation of transport links for tourism. The authorities study a spreading of coronavirus in the regions of the Russian Federation and its impact on the hotel market in St. Petersburg. The analysis of seasonal rates in St. Petersburg hotels allows us to conclude about the possible catastrophic consequences of a decrease in the number of tourists for the hotel services market in the eve of the high season of White nights. Based on the analysis of the recommendations of experts in the sphere of hospitality and examples from the practice of world hotels, hotels are needed in strategies for actions in COVID-19 environment.
