The Impact of e-Human Resource Management on Talent Retention: A Study on the Banking Sector in Bahrain

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to identify the innovative e-Human Resource Management (e-HRM) practices that impact talent retention in the Banking Sector in Bahrain. The study was conducted using an online questionnaire with a sample size of 111 employees in banking sector in Bahrain. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation bivariate analysis and linear regression analysis were employed to examine the relationships between the variables under investigation. The overall results showed that e-HRM and human resource innovation radar have significant impact on talent retention moderated by the demographic characteristics. It shows the impact of demographic characteristics on the relationship between e-HRM and talent retention. The paper concluded that the human resource innovation radar framework constructs possess high reliability and validity. It shows that human resource innovation radar positively impacts the staff’s general satisfaction.  It is duly recognizing the limitations of small sample size which restricted on the banking sector in Bahrain. The proposed HR innovative radar and its constructs are an important input to guide human resources (HR) policymakers to devise strategies for Bahraini banking industry. Banks can also benchmark their existing HR policies by applying the proposed HR innovative radar framework constructs to retain their talents.  This study reveals originality and value by proposing HR innovative radar framework in the context of Bahraini banking industry which integrates all the major innovative HR practices. Further, a scale has been developed for its measurement.
