Abstract:
Electronic government (eGovernment) has become one of the most evolving and important applications of information and communication technology (ICT) in recent years due to its positive impact on citizens, government and the society alike. However, due to lack of appropriate eReadiness levels in many developing nations, eGovernment failure rates are still relatively high with a lot that needs to be done that relates to awareness, restructuring and ICT completion and deployment. This paper demonstrates the findings of a study investigating the impact of eReadiness within the society on the success of different universities and colleges admission services in Egypt as a model example of eGovernment design and delivery in developing nations. The study findings indicate the importance of eReadiness as an invaluable element for eGovernment successful introduction, diffusion and implementation in the developing nations context.
