The Impact of Emotional Intelligence of Entrepreneurs on Creativity, Review

Abstract:

This research aimed to investigate the impact of emotional intelligence of entrepreneurs on creativity. This research consists of the independent variables represented by emotional intelligence factors (self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, social awareness, and social skills). The dependent variables are represented by creativity. All Jordanian and non-Jordanian entrepreneurs’ startups were targeted in this research. This research contributes to the academic and practical knowledge as being one of the first attempts to investigate the impact of emotional intelligence factors on entrepreneurs’ creativity. In addition to recognizing the emotional intelligence factors in entrepreneurship to improve the creativity, this research integrates, refines and extends the empirical work conducted in the field of entrepreneurial impact in Jordan. It raises many implications for startup founders, such as considering the importance of influence by emotional intelligence on creativity. This research provides useful guidelines for further and future research possibilities such as exploring why arts/humanities individuals don’t become entrepreneurs, as they experience the world differently, in comparison to more scientifically-minded people, who tend to be more logical than those in humanities or arts for instance. The outcome of this study provides essential suggestions for policy-makers, entrepreneurs, and those wishing to support and enhance entrepreneurship in Jordan.
