The Impact of Green HRM Practices on Job Satisfaction and Resource Efficiency

Abstract:

The saving environment from global warming is a big issue for the existence of mankind. Global warming is the result of a high level of industrialization and other non-environment friendly activities. Recently, there has been observed a growing consciousness inside the business world on the implication of going green and adopting several environment management strategies. Basically, Green HRM is the integration of green management into human resource management. Green HRM practices within the company will develop green human capital. This research has focused on the impact of Green HRM practices on employee job satisfaction and the efficiency of resource use in the workplace. A survey questionnaire has been used to collect data from several companies. Based on the collected data this study assessed the level of Green HRM practice impact on employees. The hypothesis revealed that Green HRM practice is positively related to employee job satisfaction and resource efficiency. Green practice within the company can make employees more satisfied. Green HRM practice will also affect the use of office resources, it leads to resource efficiency. The research hypothesis also claims that employee job satisfaction is closely related to resource efficiency. Satisfied employees are more likely to be efficient in the workplace. Resource efficiency can be attained by making employees more satisfied. This study would be helpful for public and private organizations for making new green company policy and also update the old one. Thus, organizations should consider green HRM practices to increase employee job satisfaction and to attain resource efficiency.
