Abstract:

The article analyzes the impact of information and communication techniques on the Russian industrial sector development in terms of revealing the trends that have already appeared and the expected positive prospects. Enterprises and organizations in all the federal districts of Russia actively invest in information and communication techniques, as well as use special software and communication tools, which indicates their practical interest in this issue.

Currently, according to experts, the share of Russian production in the information and communication sector in the structure of world GDP is no more than 0.2%. At the same time, to successfully integrate into the global economy in the context of widespread digitalization, Russian enterprises need to increase the implementation of modern information and communication techniques contributing to successful development and compliance with the emerging realities.

As the current trends emerging due to the introduction of information and communication techniques in industry are enterprises competitiveness growth and market risks reduced through an advanced research function and high-quality information about markets, partners and consumers in real time. Due to the results of empirical studies the formation of business models based on new communication techniques; innovation in electrification; active introduction of techniques of artificial intelligence and machine learning; scaling the Internet of things; strengthening attention to the issue of cybersecurity because of the widespread use of communication techniques are considered to be trends affecting the industrial enterprises.

The main predicted positive effects of the "Industry 4.0" introduction are supposed to be increasing the labor productivity and the efficiency of production processes based on full-fledged analytical study, widespread automation of routine procedures, strengthening relationship with partners and consumers, which is necessary for the industrial sector development and strengthening its competitive position.
