The Impact of Natural Disasters on the Population

Abstract:

The article focuses on disasters and events that greatly affect and have an impact on the human population. Will be described their typology and consequences. Devastating consequences may not be immediate and may have long-term effects (damage to landscape, diseases, economic losses, etc.).

The article will be used to illustrate the impact of natural disasters. There will be used a World Risk Index, which calculates the risks of disasters for 171 countries multiplying the vulnerability of exposure to natural disasters (cyclones, droughts, earthquakes, floods level rise over). World Risk Index 2016 shows that the major risks are in the areas of Oceania, Southeast Asia, Central America and the Sahel.
