Abstract:
One of the biggest changes started by the Covid-19 pandemic in the labour market, not only in the Czech Republic, is the performance of remote work. The aim of this paper is to map what factors influenced the use of remote working during the pandemic, what experiences with this methodology were prevalent among employees, what influenced these experiences, and last but not least, to find out employees' attitudes towards the use of remote working in the future. A questionnaire survey was the primary method used to accomplish this objective. The descriptive statistics method as well as the comparison method were used to evaluate the responses of the respondents. The conclusions of this paper includes what factors have limited the use of remote working, what are the experiences of employees with remote working, including the most significant positives and negatives, and whether employees are interested in remote working in the future. Although the questionnaire survey was directed only to a particular group of civil service employees, the results corresponded with the outputs of other surveys and can be summarised in the conclusion that employees assessed the possibility of remote working positively and a large portion of employees would welcome the possibility of remote working in the future, although not fully remotely but in a hybrid way. Meaning they would work partly in the workplace and partly remotely or from home.
