Abstract:

There is no doubt that the Visegrad Group countries (V4 countries) were affected by economic crisis very seriously. V4 countries are very export oriented with significant share of services including tourism. Tourism in V4 countries was significantly slowdown by the global economic crisis in 2008 and following years. The aim of this article is not to process the literature search on tourism and global economic crisis and its impact on the tourism in global. This article specially focuses on the impact of the global economic crisis on the tourism in V4 countries with specific emphasis on the impact of the global economic crisis on the development of the number of accommodation establishments in V4 countries. The author will try to reveal based on the statistic correlation if there is a significant relationship between the number of accommodation establishments in V4 countries and global economic crisis.
