Abstract:
The rising concerns about retaining talented employees prompted the assessment of direct effect of workplace career programme on turnover intention, among employees working in Nigeria’s hospitality industry. Structural equation model analysis was conducted on a sample of three hundred and twenty-seven (327) frontline employees working in selected 5-star hotel in Nigeria. The structural model showed that workplace career programme (career planning, career path, career growth and development and career management) has inverse direct effect on employees’ turnover intention. The study outcomes suggest that workplace career programme have significant role to play in retaining employees. Recommendations and area for further studies were suggested.
