Abstract:
Job performance is a significant issue in the context of UAE petrochemical company as it has accumulated effect on the organizational performance which has national interest. However, to what extent the job performance could be improved through transformational leadership and conducive organizational culture is unknown. Thus, this study investigates the effect of transformational leadership and organizational culture on job performance among employees who worked in a national petrochemical company. Questionnaires were distributed to 350 middle managers using convenience sampling. The study found that both transformational leadership and organizational culture explained 33.7% of variance in job performance. However, transformational leadership has a stronger effect on job performance compared to organizational culture. This result supports previous empirical evidence and highlights the importance of leadership development program for middle managers of UAE petrochemical company.
