Abstract:
The purpose of creating the article is to express the performance of Prague Airport (Letiště Praha, a.s.); it also aims to evaluate the possibility for further development in the indicators of the company's performance, and in particular, how it is affected by its monopoly on landing rights and terminal gates. The methodology used for creating the article is based on the use of the descriptive method to describe the mission and real activities of the company and the method of comparative analysis to evaluate the development of the company's performance indicators. As is substantiated by the analysis of the development of performance indicators of the Prague Airport in the last five years, its position among other European partners is improving significantly thanks to the globalization of the economy. This trend is also substantiated by the increase in the performance of the main air hub in the Czech Republic, the Václav Havel Airport in Prague, in particular in international air transport. One implication suggested by the positive development in the performance indicators of the Prague Airport is that the construction of another runway is required due to the high load on the existing runways, and the management of the Prague Airport does in fact plan to do so.
