The importance of Romania’s public health system in meeting the needs of people with diabetes

Abstract:

The purpose of the article was to understand the importance and role of the public health system in Romania in meeting the needs of people with diabetes. The objectives of the research were to determine the predominant type of diabetes and the profile of the patient who uses the public health system, in order to analyze the importance of the public health system from the perspective of the most prevalent condition in the category of diabetes and the most susceptible people who would access the public health system in finding solutions to reduce the impact of diabetes on their standard of living. Given the representativeness provided by the research, the next step was to determine the importance of public health system from the perspective of the perception of people with type II diabetes. Thus, the aim was to determine how people with type II diabetes use the basic types of support of the public health system. Another objective was to determine the effectiveness of the types of basic support provided to diabetics by the Romanian public health system. It also aimed to determine the effectiveness of related types of support provided by the public health system. The results and conclusions refer to the degree of adaptation of the public health system to the needs and expectations of people with diabetes. The recommended measures relate to the adaptation of the activities and tools of the public health system to the medical and social needs and expectations of people with diabetes in order to ensure a minimum standard of safety and comfort in the treatment of the condition.
