Abstract:
This paper contributes to the specialised literature by offering a study which assesses the influence of culture on the Romanian workforce. In order to do that, we identified part of the role culture plays in shaping certain social-economic results. Moreover, this paper offers proof as to the influence of culture on employees. In order to identify the manner in which culture influences change on the labour market we chose three independent variables, namely: audience at art performances, visitors in museums and public collections, viewers of educational, scientific and cultural TV shows, as well as four dependent variables, namely: unemployment rate, conflicts of interest, the real income index and workforce productivity. Subsequent to our research, we observed that culture strongly influences the behaviour of the workforce through reducing the unemployment rate, limiting conflicts of interest, increasing workforce productivity and even that of the real income index.
