Abstract:
The present paper presents the results of a survey conducted on small and medium size enterprises in Romania in order to analyze the association and influence of leadership performance on the competitiveness level of the companies. The study used quantitative methodology and two questionnaires applied to 35 Romanian SMEs. The results showed that the competitive advantages of the investigated Romanian SMEs are speed of response to customers’ requests and low prices, while quality, dependability and flexibility are areas that still need improvement. The research hypothesis was confirmed, demonstrating the capital role of leadership performance in reaching a high competitiveness level.
