Abstract:

The positive multiplier effects of entrepreneurship in the economy are widely acknowledged. Taking into consideration that entrepreneurial intentions represent a necessary premise to performing entrepreneurial activities, this paper investigates the main factors that influence the entrepreneurial intentions of the Romanian high school students in order to identify some actions that can improve the entrepreneurial activity, in terms of both quality and quantity. The research results based on the statistical analysis of the data collected through a questionnaire distributed to 260 final year students from two high schools (economic and non-economic), show a high level of entrepreneurial intentions among students. Moreover, the results of the multiple regression analysis highlight that entrepreneurial intentions of high school students are influenced positively by effectiveness of entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial family background and entrepreneurial personality traits.
