The Influx of Foreign Workers in the Context of the Demographic Transformations in Poland. The Employers’ Perspective (Case Study of Opole Voivodeship)

Abstract:

Demography and related changes in the job market are considered to be the main vehicles of immigration (Vishnevsky 2013). And reversely – immigration is treated as a partial remedy for the decreasing number of population (Harper 2016). In Poland, similarly as in the developed countries which are characterized by aging society, one can point to three main factors stimulating immigration: structural maladjustments in the job market between the demand and the supply, the necessity of rejuvenating resources of work and acquisition of people willing to take up certain activities, like care of elderly citizens.
