The article is divided into the theoretical part, where the author refers to the scientific experts who deal with brownfield issues. Other parts are methods and data, where a brownfield database was created in the South Moravian and Pardubice Region. Part of the contribution is the solution of indicators that can influence the regeneration of brownfields in the given territories. From these indicators, the biggest problem is the ownership of abandoned buildings and complexes, which in a great way can control the further building activity of the given objects.
