Abstract:

Malaysian manufacturing firms face significant challenges in terms of production and supply instability as well as costs in responding to local and foreign competitors. Hence in Malaysia, Lean Supply Chain Management (LSCM) is the best strategy for most manufacturing companies for improving market efficiency and supply chain management and boost their corporate performance. The behavior and the potential for significant impacts on sustainable performance in manufacturing companies can vary with time and variations for approaches of the lean supply chain management key practices. This paper, therefore, focuses main practices for lean supply chain management on the basis of evaluations of experts in the Malaysian manufacturing sector in order to achieve sustainable performances in manufacturing companies. The aim of this paper is to identify the key practices in lean supply chain management on sustainable performance. Hence, this paper reviewed 172 articles published from 2015 to 2019, using the Scopus Database. The paper concluded that the fundamental in the concept of lean supply chain tools to achieve sustainable performance as the best solutions are highlighted in this systematic literature review for the LSCM practices. Thus, the perspective of inter-organizational operations was identified to propose in new challenges opportunities for future research.
