Abstract:

Due to increasing competition in the manufacturing industry, the search for shorter product development and production cycles and lower cost led to the emergence of design and manufacturing integration processes. An advanced integrated design environment, such as Catia system enables the engineers to evaluate multiple constraints from manufacturing, assembly, service at the design stage. The paper describes virtual product development process. All is described in one common integrated Catia environment.
