The Mediation Role of Organization’s Mission on Transformational Leadership Behaviour and Employee’s Job Performance

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mediation role on transformational leadership behaviors and the employee’s job performance; used the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company as a case study for the investigation. the study was designed following a quantitative approach. More specifically, an explanatory correlational design was used in this study with a randomly selected sample of 452 ADNOC employees at the managerial positions. The validity and reliability of the measurement and the structural models were discovered. Hence, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling was used to test the hypotheses. The results shown that there was a substantial mediation effect of the organization’s mission in the relationship between leadership behaviour and the employee’s job performance. Also the findings revealed that transformational leadership had significant positive effect on job performance. Transformational leadership had significant positive effect on mission. Likewise, Mission had significant positive effect on job performance. The results add to the extant literature by including the factors that could improve the employees’ job performance. Recommendations and suggestions are also made for future research
