Abstract:
In modern conditions, enterprises even in traditional industries are faced with the need to maintain competitiveness based on the use of information technologies not only in the processes of organizing economic activities, but also with the need to transform the entire business model. This determines the real topicality of developing an indicator reflecting the company's readiness for a digital transformation. The authors propose a definition of the term "digital potential" and an approach to quantifying the digital potential of an industrial enterprise as an integrated indicator that allows assessing the resources and capabilities of the enterprise to transform business processes, taking into account the action of environmental factors in the process of digitization of the economy. The integrated indicator includes two groups of characteristics that reflect the state of the external and internal business environment of the enterprise. The list of indicators is proposed. All indicators can be quantified from the company's official reports. The article offers a formula for determining the integral indicator of the digital potential as a convolution of separate indicators. The proposed approach allows us to analyze not only the current level of digitalization of business processes in the enterprise, but also the possibilities of increasing the digital potential.
