Abstract:
Eco-economy translates the benefits of ecology and bioeconomics into economic policies that give meaning and rationality to the economic activity, both at the level of consumption, as a defining act that supports the market economy and at the level of allocation, as a way to reduce societal inequalities. The problems faced by humanity, from those related to the irrational use of natural resources, reaching their limits and generating greenhouse gas growth (global warming, intensifying complex natural disasters), to economic ones generating economic crises (unemployment, deficits) structural effects with repercussions on the quality of life), make rethinkinking the economic system on rational, ecological, ethical bases a must. Naturally, the eco-economy becomes an integrating concept that can unitarily manage environmental, social, economic, and ethical issues. The intention of the scientific approach of the paper is to carry out an exhaustive research on the concept of eco-economy and to identify tools for appreciation, commensuration or delimitation of the specific variables and of the factors of influence.
