The Particulars of Historical Memory Formation in Modern Russian University

Abstract:

At the turn of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries Russian society has experienced difficult socio-economic and political transformations, as well as the breakdown of ideological attitudes. As a result, the worldview of the younger generation was formed under the conditions of dominance of various historical and social myths, in postfigurative culture, characteristic of modern society. The older generation and their  life experience are devoid of value in the eyes of the youth. Traditional channels of historical memory transmission cease to function.
