Abstract:

The aim of the publication is to evaluate the perception and significance of the costs incurred by the owners of historic hotels in relation to the necessity of ensuring an appropriate level of quality of their facilities. For the purpose of the publication 47 out of 50 member hotels of Heritage Hotels Poland were surveyed.  Three hotels declined to participate in the survey.  The hotels are located in all parts of Poland, both in urban and rural areas. The research method was a direct interview on the basis of a questionnaire. The results of the survey clearly showed that the respondents had low level of knowledge about the quality costs and their calculation. Many factors can influence the results of the conducted research.
