Abstract:
The goal of the study is figuring out the perceptions and approaches of the Russian universities’ students regarding the preferable channels of communication with their teachers in study process: based on modern digital technologies or face to face direct communications and tracing the dynamics of these perceptions and approaches in the period of 2017-2019. The target group of the study is students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. For the comparative analysis were used results of the previous researches conducted in Murmansk region and Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. The questionnaire developed for interviewing consists of 4 sections and 21 questions and was presented in hard copies and in on-line version in Google Forms. The total number of respondents was 243 students of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (276 in the year 2017 and 67 in the year 2019. The study reveals the positive dynamics in use of the modern educational platforms and electronic databases by the students. The main influencing factor is recommendations of their teachers. However, the research discovers the fact that an essential part of students can be described as rather conservative creatures in their approach to usage of e-learning, information and digital technologies in studying. The percentage of these conservators can be valuated as app. 30-35 % of the whole sample. Finally the authors indicate the study limitations and directions of the future investigations.
