Abstract:
The global automotive industry is an important component of the global economy. The data of statistical observations characterizing the dynamics of the automotive industry allow us to conclude that the world industry recovered from the crisis of 2008-2009 and resumed growth. By the end of 2016, the volume of registered vehicles increased more than two times in comparison to 1996. Thus, there is a tendency to double the world's fleet of vehicles every ten years. The countries with the largest volumes of vehicle production are Russia and the USA. The number of registered vehicles and production volumes in South-East Asia and Latin America is actively growing. For forecasting purposes, grouping of countries of car manufacturers on the basis of Boston consulting group matrix and cluster analysis method is relevant. The work was carried out grouping countries car manufacturers which allowed distributing the countries into four groups. For each of the groups, a forecast was made for the development of the national automotive industry.
