Abstract:
Forest plays a significant role in the development of the country. This study portrays the potential socio-economic impact of billion tree afforestation project (BTAP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Pakistan. The BTAP project was implemented with total budget 14,334.72 million. Since its inauguration, the project has played a vital role in providing employment and trade opportunities for the local people and has proved itself promising to minimize unemployment and poverty in Pakistan. The current study indicates that BTAP has improved the living standard of local communities and boosted the economy of Pakistan.
