Abstract:
Labour productivity is an important category when analysing the dynamics of the national socio-economic development. The article reveals the peculiar features of labour productivity in Russia based on the analysis of the socio-economic conditions of its regions. It identifies reasons restraining labour productivity. In the course of the study, we used the statistics of the year 2017 on labour productivity, living standards and the nature of the economic activities of the regions. A correlation and regression analysis of the official statistics allowed us to reveal the leading regions and the factors, which are most significant for the level of productivity: employees’ wages and the number of university graduates. The results allow us to determine the main lines of the productivity management program in Russia to stimulate an increase of this indicator. It is proposed to develop the cooperation of enterprises with educational institutions to encourage young people to acquire modern professions in demand and stimulate these programs at the regional level.
