The Relationship between Innovation Management and Knowledge Management

Abstract:

All over the world, knowledge management techniques are quickly becoming embedded on the global front and have risen to represent the economic, social, political, and technological prowess of organizations which embed and integrate knowledge management activities in the organizational context (Lopez-Nicolas & Merono-Cerdan, 2011). When it comes to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), knowledge management activities are quickly becoming recognized as an essential component of business practice and organizations are rapidly adapting their organizational functions in order to take advantage of the benefits provided by implementing knowledge management strategies (KMS) (Chiaroni, et al., 2011). The rapid and fast paced development of knowledge management activities has dramatically increased the scope of application of KMS in different industries and across different organizational structures. This study focuses on elucidating and elaborating the link between knowledge management/knowledge management activities/knowledge management strategies and innovation management (Bergeron, 2011). Specifically, the subject of this paper is centered upon how knowledge management, knowledge creation, and knowledge application can result in innovation.Â
