Abstract:
This paper aims to access the significant relationship between organizational justice and organizational citizenship behavior in the Indian education sector; and the effect of demographic (gender and marital status) and career variables (education and job tenure) on OCB and organizational justice. The sample comprised of 168 dyads of head of the departments and their subordinates from twenty four management and technical colleges. Besides, correlation and multiple regression were used to examine the main hypotheses of the study. The study results revealed that there is significant relationship between OCB dimensions and organizational justice dimensions. Further, OCB perceptions vary according to marital status and job tenure only. Whereas teachers’ organizational justice perception vary according to gender, marital status and job tenure. The theoretical and operational implications of the results are discussed. This study is checking the relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Organizational Justice for first time in the Indian education sector.
