The Research of the Current State of Economic Activity in the Romanian Agricultural Sector. Case Study: Braila and Ialomita Counties

Abstract:

The purpose of the research was to identify the current stage of the economic activity in agriculture (grain producers, purchasers, storage, processors and traders) in Romania. The research was conducted in two counties (Ialomita and Braila)  representative for Regions South-East and South-Muntenia and covered issues such as: assessments of the growth sectors of the national economy, competition with other companies/farms/companies, development of annual business in the last three years, assessments of the evolution of the turnover in the next three years, the market for production, financial instruments used to start business judgments about the strengths/weaknesses of organizations, assessments of workforce needs, the recruitment employee training level of employee feedback on difficulties in staffing, the number of employees of businesses, access to information or collaboration with other organizations, assessment of the need of the advice and information, assessment on access to information or interest in research and development, interest in collaboration with research institutes and universities, collaboration areas of interest, conduct of joint projects, interest in funding research projects.
