Abstract:

Tourism has been a major contributor to the growth of Jordanian economy and has played an important role in creating employment opportunities for the local population. Two major projects were launched by the government of Jordan namely, Siyaha-1 project (2005-2008) and Siyaha-2 project (2008–2013). It showed huge positive implications for the tourism industry of Jordan. However, the global recession, the Syrian conflict, and the Arab Spring negatively affected the tourism industry of Jordan.
