The Role of DevSecOps in Ensuring Business Continuity and Resiliency of GIS Systems

Abstract:

The article analyzes the importance of integrating security practices in the DevOps process in the context of geographic information systems (GIS). The paper aims to present how DevSecOps can increase the level of business continuity security and resilience of GIS systems by early detection and elimination of security threats. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the application of the DevSecOps model to the specific context of GIS systems, which is rarely discussed in literature. The authors emphasize that the traditional approach to business continuity security, implemented at the end of the GIS life cycle, is insufficient in the face of growing cyber threats. The practical value of the work comes from the presentation of specific methods and tools that can be used in the DevSecOps process to ensure the continuity of GIS systems. The methods used include case studies of DevSecOps implementations in various organizations, as well as empirical studies on the effectiveness of these practices in the context of GIS. The main results of the work indicate that the integration of DevSecOps allows for faster detection and repair of security errors, which translates into greater resilience of GIS systems to cyberattacks. The article concludes that DevSecOps is not just a trend but a necessity in modern GIS management, ensuring business continuity and resilience to threats.
