Abstract:
The article discusses the assumptions of the concept of eco-development of cities in the context of urban green areas and the mechanism of its implementation in relation to the management of local government units. Green areas in cities are an inseparable element of the urban landscape, they play a biological, recreational and climatic function. Activities related to the creation of an urban environment should be implemented in a balance between the natural environment and man. The effect of such action should be sustainable management of urban space, especially green areas. Ecosystem services are the benefits that the environment provides to society and the economy. A look at the relationship between economy, society and the environment clearly shows that environmental protection has a strong economic justification. On this basis, an assessment of the conditions for maintenance and development of green areas in cities by applying a multidimensional analysis was carried out.
