The Role of Organizational Commitment in the Relationship between Human Resources Information Systems and Employees’ Innovative Capabilities

Abstract:

Purpose: 

This study examines how employee creativity in Egypt is affected by HRIS perceived ease of learning (PL), perceived satisfaction (PS) and innovative capabilities of employees (ICE) while taking organizational commitment (OC) into account. SPSS was used for data analysis while a research model was evaluated across multiple organizations. This study advances knowledge of HRIS use and how it relates to learning, innovation, and satisfaction.

Design/methodology/approach: 

This study was adopted a non-probability random sampling approach consisting of (250) HR employees across multiple organizations in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The data collected by different questionnaires used to measure PS, PL, ICE, OC.

Findings: 

The findings of this research corroborate a strong positive relationship between HRIS and the innovative capacities of employees, wherein organizational commitment acts as a vital mediating factor. The perceived ease of learning and perceived satisfaction with the HRIS significantly enhance innovation, while the effectiveness of the HRIS encourages commitment, which in turn drives creativity. These findings underscore the necessity of userfriendly HRIS to encourage innovation, providing valuable insights for HR professionals and policymakers.

Originality/value: Based on these findings, the study reached some concluding remarks concerning HRIS (PL, PS) and ICE in the presence of OC.
