Abstract:

The paper presents the analysis of qualitative research conducted during first two months of the lockdown caused by Covid-19 pandemy among the sample of (N=189) Polish employees representing youngest work generations (Millenials). Two variables - sense of security and depression were statistically controlled via two-way analysis followed. The study assumed that young employees, depending on belonging to a particular gender, differ in their psychological reception of the  psycho- social threats induced by coronavirus crisis: women are more keen to react with depression although  the level of the personal sense of security of men and women stays on moderately high level. Moreover, the level of personal security determines the severity of depression symptoms in a such way that the higher the intensity of the sense of security, the lower the intensity of the characteristics of depression. The found results can be used as recommendations for introducing more holistic  well-being and health and safety system measures in organizations.
