The Situation On The Local Labour Market As A Determinant Of Internal And External Youth Migration – Example Of The Lower Silesian Voivodeship

Abstract:

The problem of spatial displacement in the population has an increasingly stronger stigma in the areas it concerns. Today, a particularly important phenomenon in the scope of migration processes is the increased mobility of young people from peripheral areas towards the centres of regions and abroad. The relatively large loss of youth from peripheral areas is a significant problem, because the standard of living in local communities will depend on the activity and quality of actions taken by young people. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of the situation on local labour markets on the level of internal and external migration of young people in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The results of the completed research indicate that only about ¼ of respondents prospectively intend to remain in areas with high unemployment rates
