Abstract:
Terrorism activity need funding supports in its survival. The practices of conventional methods, such as physical robberies, sending cash via couriers, and charitable donations have now moved towards the use of technology, particularly the use of internet-supported technology. This paper aims to describe the methods of financing terrorism implemented in Indonesia, covering both the use of traditional methods and internet based technology methods, and the recommendation to countering the financing of terrorism by the misuse of the internet. This research was conducted using qualitative method, combining discussions with experts from various government agencies, as well as journal literature reviews and reports. This paper shows that the existence of the internet indirectly expands the financing of terrorism with a wider, faster, anonymous, and greater amount.
