The Theory and the Practice of Regional Development in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

According to many theories, an examination of economic phenomena is always relative to a particular area. So it is appropriate to specify the region as an environment for further analysis and modelling, in which we can use indicators to monitor the economic variables that could be analyzed based on thresholds. The region means purpose defined area whose boundaries are given by significant functional (or historical) linkages. A system of descriptors and indicators is used to monitor regional differences in the Czech Republic. For these purposes, the term description means the characteristics of individual regions of the Czech Republic by law No. 347/1997 Coll., according to the essential geographic, demographic, economic and environmental characteristics.
