Abstract:
Today's technology has reached a high level of performance, successfully replacing even some occupations, being within the reach of specialists in many fields. Thus, we can see cars that park alone, or robots that perform surgery. Why not we use this technology on a large scale for patients, to monitor and supervise them successfully? In Romania, the health system has a rather low level of technology, but in the same time and a fairly low number of health care personnel per number of patients. The introduction of intelligent patient monitoring devices would bring a number of benefits, both for patients and for medical staff (doctors and nurses). Thus, these devices can monitor both the vital functions of the patient: blood pressure, pulse, saturation and temperature, as well as its exact location in the institution during the hospitalization or even later.
