The Wages of Male and Female ICT Managers in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic

Abstract:

The goal of this article is to compare the wages of male and female ICT managers in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. We would like to answer several questions – how much do the wages of men and women in the CR and the SR differ (or converge), do the wages of ICT managers differ from the wages in the entire country, is the impact of gender the same in both countries? To answer these questions, we analyzed the data set of wages. We worked with data for the past 18 years that are very detailed. This large quantity of data guarantees the representativeness of the data set, which makes our achieved results highly reliable. Our results indicate a significant difference between the wages of women and men and the fact that ICT managers’ wages are considerably higher than the average wage in both countries. After having compared the wages of ICT managers in the two countries, we concluded that the difference is in fact insignificant.
