Abstract:

The relevance of the study is confirmed by the fact that the relevance of the study is confirmed by the fact that in Russia – at different stages of the existence of this state –the problems of the territorial economic structure of the country were studied by various scientists. It should be noted that the regional studies of the XIX-XX centuries are more concerned with the availability and use of natural productive forces, socio-economic geography, regional statistics, regional markets. The aim of this study is to systematize the stages of development of the regional economy in Russia and abroad. To achieve this goal the following tasks were solved: systematize theories of spatial and regional Economics; identify the main stages of development of the regional economy in Russia and abroad. The methodological basis of the research is the methods of system analysis, comparison and analogy, logical and semantic modeling. These methods are used as a theoretical basis in the works of domestic and foreign scientists in the regional economy. Sources of information are economic and other special literature, articles from periodicals, research results, experience of leading foreign companies. The results of this study are the conclusions made on the basis of systematization of the stages of development of the regional economy in Russia and abroad. The proposed systematization clearly demonstrates the natural backlog of domestic regional science from foreign. For this there were both objective reasons due to the internal laws of the development of Soviet science, and external, which were associated with the peculiarities of the development of our state during the XX century.
