Abstract:
This article explores the diverse functionalities and use cases of various project management applications, focusing on how these tools meet specific business needs across different industries. The study analyzes 13 widely-used project management tools, emphasizing their suitability for Agile and Waterfall methodologies, communication methods, hierarchy structures, time-tracking capabilities, and emotional management features. Through a detailed comparison, the article demonstrates that while many of these applications share similar functionalities, they serve distinct business types and project requirements. Findings indicate that older, feature-rich applications like Microsoft Project are optimal for large, complex projects in industries such as manufacturing and IT, while newer, flexible tools like ClickUp and Notion appeal to startups and smaller teams. Additionally, the article highlights applications with mood-tracking capabilities, underscoring the growing importance of managing employee well-being in Agile environments. This research provides insights to help organizations choose the most effective project management tools based on their size, industry, and project demands.
