Tools Used for Career Management at the Manufacturing Enterprises in Russia

Abstract:

The aim of the research is to provide a theoretical basis and to develop strategies to improve the career management system at the manufacturing enterprises in Russia. The authors analyzed the concept, functions and stages of career management, studied the models of business career management and characterized motivation as an effective tool. The researchers indicated the directions of development of the career management system and gave recommendations on how to improve it in the enterprise. The authors put forward some innovative ideas giving practical recommendations for developing the career management system in an organization: informing a candidate for a position about career opportunities will allow him/her to decide if his/her career development needs will be met; planning their career, the employees should interact with the specialists from the personnel department; the staff should understand how the career management system works, so the personnel department should be aware of the career orientations of the employees and systematize the information on their career expectations. The motivational mechanisms should make the career prospects clear and give the personnel opportunities to grow professionally in the organization. Apart from that, the employees should be motivated to develop their careers.
